i get a lot of crap for being straight edge. i get a little respect, but mostly people are confused or just tease. you guys are just perfect and so respected. you could do anything. i do what i choose, but not everyone thinks i'm so amazing.
I'm also straight edge. I've never liked being around people who drink or do drugs either. Go Davey! Go Jade! My friends respect me for it, while others try to change my mind. I just tell them, "I don't mind if you do it, I just don't want to do it, or be around people who do." =] Mark- Thanks for the interview!
i'm edge, and most people are surprised about it, because i look like a druggie.. and i'm kinda insane.. and most people are accepting, it's just that there's the random assholes that decide to stop talking to you because you wont party with them the way they want you to...

I have alway's thought that drinking and drugs were just retarded, to say the least, and I didn't know that by not doing them I was "edge"; however when I found AFI and heard that both you and Jade were Straight Edge and I found out that that's what I was, if I was to be put into a label that is, I felt so relieved. It was nice to know that i wasn't alone, because all of my friends, with the exception of ONE, does drink, smoke, etc... and it wasn't fun to see them hurt themselves and go through all of that just for some TEMPORARY "happieness". I mean none of my friends exlude me from anything, they just never invited me to any of their "parties", not because I was a geek or lame, but because they knew my life and that I won't go against who I am and what I believe for anyone no matter how close of friends I am with that person and that's why they never did. My one friend wanted me to go to his party, and he went to such extreme length's as telling the others not to smoke and he even got me soda and water, so I went and it was really nice. I really do agree with what you said about not feeling excluded and stuff, though I've had my fair share of "you dont' drink, god your a moron." teasing, but hey it's all part of life, so that's cool.
I can't wait to come and see you guy's in San Diego. ^_^

Straight Edge for life. I really can't see spending my life anyother way. I mean come on, whats so great about doing drugs anyway? I mean why do SOOOOO many people feel the need to do them. I mean I know I've never tried them (thank god!) but I've heard about what they do...I've SEEN what they do. In my opinion why bother. They make you look like an idiot and the next day you are bound to feel like shite.
I don't know thats just me. I guess everyone has there own prespective on the matter.
